I'm never one to pass up a good deal, and this was too good to miss.
For the past couple years, I've sent customized Shutterfly holiday cards to our friends and families. I almost didn't this year just because the cost of everything has gone up... so I was okay (but not happy) with sending generic cards. But then I got my awesome Shutterfly Cyber Monday deal and created these beauties:
I got 50 custom cards for less than $35 - including shipping and handling. The deal I got lasts until November 30th, so get your tushies over there today!

happy thanksgiving - enjoy these custom baby knits/crochets :D
Whelp, I finally finished all those super adorable baby items! Before I ship them out in the next couple days, I thought I'd post some photos!
The items are for a (hopefully) new friend of mine who will be using these as photo props - I can't wait to see what those look like! They include a football hat and diaper cover set, a baseball hat and diaper cover set, some munchkin hats, and some adorable toddler hats.
I hope you all have a fantabulous Thanksgiving! Hubby and I will be enjoying the holiday with both our families, gorging ourselves on two delicious meals. I plan to get a lot of knitting in for Christmas gifts while I'm staying with my parents, then it's time to come home and have another tasty turkey dinner with our friends in the area.
I'll tell you what, though - as hectic as this long weekend will be for me, I'm still really looking forward to four days off and some "me" time!
Be safe, everyone!

my traveling scarf is home!
I received my traveling scarf last week, and I'm so happy to have it home! It is beauteous:
I wasn't sure if I was going to add fringe to the bottom, but I think I will. I might use white and keep it all the same color, just to bring everything together.
It's so bright and sparkly - I love it! Thanks to all the ladies who have worked so hard on this. It's been a few months since we started and it's nice to have it back in my hands :D

knitted headbands everywhere!
Before I get started on my day, I just wanted to show off some custom headbands I made over the weekend for my shop!
Grey and cream are probably the most popular colors chosen for these headbands, so needless to say I always have enough yarn to make them :)
If you'd like to make your own, then check out the pattern page! They make for quick and easy Christmas gifts that everyone loves. Or, if you can't knit, visit my etsy shop and I'd be more than glad to make you some for the holidays.

finished: knitted hat & cowl set
I failed at updating you with current projects last week, so here's one (technically two) that I'm most proud of.
I finished this hat and cowl set for my friend's birthday this past weekend, and I'm super happy with the results!
I bought the pattern on Ravelry, and even though the hat is great, I was somewhat disappointed in the price just because it was so simple. That said, it is a very pretty hat, so I guess I'm okay with it now. Plus, my friend loved it, so you can't ask for anything else, really :)
The cowl is a pattern designed by the owner of the yarn shop less than a block away from my friend's boyfriend's house in Philadelphia - coincidentally, where we bought the yarn to make this back in August. So felt like it was appropriate. AND it was really easy for looking so complicated. I was very happy with it, and the set looked great together.
Our trip to Philadelphia was so much fun. We had a tasy dinner at a restaurant called Southwark, which comes highly recommended by us. Hubby actually tried eating tongue and loved it. I couldn't get past the fact it was tongue, so I was content with my chicken, haha. Then we all went back to Pub & Kitchen for drinks. So all-in-all, a fun and productive weekend.
On a sidenote, I only have one nervewracking presentation left to give tomorrow afternoon for class and a 10-page paper due Thursday and then I'm done for the semester! And I think I discovered this morning that I only have five classes left instead of six, so if that's true, my day was made. Here's hoping!

Yarn can't feel pain
You may have seen this video making its way across the internet already. In case you haven't, I thought I'd finish the week off by sharing some laughs.
Hope you all have a good weekend! We're visiting my parents to pick up some wood for our stove and attend a turkey dinner at their church. Aside from putting together a final paper and presentation, it should be a relaxing weekend with lots of knitting and crocheting :)
I'll be back on Monday to show off the yarn I got to make Christmas presents. I'm feeling overwhelmed at the moment, and you'll see why :)

the "a - z" of me!
Here's something fun for a little change of pace that I stole from another blog I follow. We all read each other's blogs so often, but how much do we really know about one another? Feel free to steal the meme below and fill in your own answers - I'd love to read more about my fellow crafters :)
A. Age: 28
B. Bed size: Recently upgraded from a Full to a Queen... though we haven't noticed a difference since the frame from IKEA broke (be surprised), rendering it useless until fixed.
C. Chore that you hate: Everything. Probably something between putting laundry away and washing the dishes.
D. Dogs: Not at the moment... just our furry kitty Charlie for the time being.
E. Essential start to your day: Lots of coffee. There's no point in talking to me unless there are 16oz of pure caffeinated deliciousness in my system.
F. Favourite color: My corny artist answer is that I love all colors. I do, however, dislike pastels. To me, they're colors that have lost their wills to live.
G. Gold or Silver: Silver
H. Height: 5'8"
I. Instruments you play: Flute and piano. I also sing. Haven't done anything in a really long time, though. Been too busy with school :(
J. Job title: Marketing Designer
K. Kids: Maybe someday!
L. Live: An hour outside of Philadelphia and about two hours outside of NYC.
M. Mother’s name: Linda
N. Nicknames: Jenn, Jenny, Bubba (thanks to Hubby for that one), Mang
O. Overnight hospital stays: Once when I was little and had scarlet fever, then again when I had my gall bladder removed at 19.
P. Pet peeve: Changes by the hour. It's usually bad drivers (specifically those who don't know how to merge) and ignorance.
Q. Quote from a movie: "Never take it seriously. If you never take it seriously, you never get hurt, and if you never get hurt, you always have fun. And if you ever get lonely, you just go to the record store and visit your friends." ~Almost Famous
R. Right or left handed: Right
S. Siblings: None. Explains a lot, I bet :)
T. Time you wake up: 7:10AM on weekdays, then whenever I need to on weekends. Usually around 8:30AM, though.
U. Underwear: Always. No LiLo problems for me!

V. Vegetable you hate: White asparagus. The first time I tried it was when I went to Spain my Junior year of college and I thought I was going to die.
W.
What makes you run late: Not being happy with my hair or encountering traffic caused by my pet peeve terrible drivers. Usually I always try to be 15 minutes early to everything, though.
X. X-Rays you’ve had:
So many.
Y. Yummy food that you make: Wimpies. Do any of you know what wimpies are? I only ask because it seems like a local term that nobody outside of my hometown area has ever heard before, and everyone looks at me all confused whenever I bring it up.
Z. Zoo
animal: Anything fluffy and cute :) I love baby zoo animals.
